522507 2007-02-04 02:25:00 Hi,
While updating the software on my father's computer setup at his work (a server running Windows Server 2003 and a client running XP Professional) I noticed that the network was not functional. The two computers are connected with a crossover ethernet cable. This setup had worked fine for months but upon trying to fix the network, Explorer crashed under Server 2003 while trying to access the Network Connections Control Panel folder. On the client computer I could access the network settings. The computers do not have an internet connection and are only used for the management software. How can this be fixed?

Have you rebooted the server?
Problem still there?

Try booting in Safe Mode with Networking enabled - Press F8 while server is rebooting before the Windows Server 2003 logo appears on screen.
See if you can get into the network settings now.

Do the server and workstation have static IP addresses?
