522606 2007-02-04 20:24:00 Yep that's it.
Looks like you are still on 128k upload.

To Nyuuji - the max upload speed you will get is 768k but more likely 512k with overheads etc.

522607 2007-02-04 20:25:00 You'll never get 3+Mb upload speed. Not at this time anyway. I think the max is around 512Kb/s.

Is this due to ISP's throttling, or due to physical limitations of the exchange and lines?

It's due to us having ADSL ( asymmetric digital subscriber line) Asymmetric means no balance or symmetry, so we get faster download speed than upload speed. I think the max attainable is about 640kbps up.

It's the nature of the beast not due to throttling.:D

It'd due to Telecom being to lazy to get off their arse an do something about it

522611 2007-02-05 02:12:00 Am I being unreasonable in expecting to get faster uploads within a week.
Latest excuse "The chap who's dealing with your problem is busy right now,I'll get him to call you back". I'm waiting.
I've had my download connection for a week now. Upload is still the same.

Why are they allowed to sell what they can't supply?

522612 2007-02-05 04:13:00 JJJJJ, at least you can GET broadband with them.

I signed up for xnet river on thursday.
I got a letter today saying my application had been approved and the scheduled installation date was 02/02/07 (friday).
I got my hardware today and set it up, only to find my line had not been activated for adsl.
i rang the helpdesk and after checking my settings the guy agreed that yes, there must be a problem with the line, and that he would contact telecom and get back to me.
He rang back about half an hour later saying that someone else had been connected to the port i was scheduled to be connected to and that there were no ports left at the exhange and that I was at the top of the list of people waiting for a port to become available
So its back to dialup for the foreseeable future...

Is this an example of telecom favoring xtra customers over anyone else??
