| 522556 | 2007-02-05 22:41:00 | I'm sure I recall seeing in PressF1 here or some other site or hardware review site (or was it comments on a retail site from when someone bought a USB flash drive).. I honestly don't know - but they said that a brand new USB flash drive committed suicide and took the whole motherboard with it .... along with that and your Power surge message, burnt smell - I would say its quite likely the same thing happened (though at least it's probably just the USB controller if it really is cooked) I would be keeping that drive away from computers that you want working.... and maybe you could get a USB-PCI card if you want working USB ports in your computer again |
