| 523019 | 2007-02-05 23:13:00 | I recently purchased a new lap top running XP Media Centre Edition 2005, McAfee Security Centre. After installation of Office 2000 I have a continual problem with Outlook which has meant it is almost impossible to use which is very incomvenient and I have had to revert to Outlook Express. On opening a popup window appears. The text of the window says: A program is trying to access email addresses you have stored in Outlook. Do you want to allow this? If this is unexpected it may be a virus and you should choose "no". A response box asks: Allow access for (1, 2, 5, 10 ) minutes. Yes No Help (which gives none of any use) Clicking on either yes or no just compounds the problem and if I try to close the box I get multiple windows of the same. The only way I can use the programme at all is to clisk on 'Allow access' for 'x' minutes and 'No'. The box returns after the 'x' minutes. If someone can help me to get rid on this wondow I will be eternally grateful. I have tried McAfee who offered a solution then ignored my emails telling them it was unsuccessful. |

| 523023 | 2007-02-06 12:01:00 | Try Uninstalling Mcafee , use ccleaner to clean the rest of it up , do a reboot and try outlook and see if that helps. | GhostBuster (10141) | ||
| 523024 | 2007-02-06 12:17:00 | Far to harsh, Chances are all thats needed is a simple configuration change wthin Mcafee or just removing the account from Outlook Express. Personally I would remove both Outlook and Mcafee but I dont think thats what teh thread starter is asking..... |

| 523025 | 2007-02-07 02:34:00 | My Outlook is part of Office 2002 and that (Office 2002) has been removed and reinstalled to no avail. I could try reinstalling McAfee which makes me rather nervous. McAfee was installed on the laptop when I purchased it. I had Norton's installed on my old PC and had mp trouble. | nolaf (11863) | ||
