| 522402 | 2007-02-04 00:10:00 | Hi There I am going to buy a rapsody multimedia harddrive player for myself I bought a few hong kong dramas online and downloaded a few Problems is there are no players up to now can read real media format It has to be converted to other format such as AVI,WMA,Mpeg1,MPEG2 etc Im planning to buy a 350GB HDD Question is In terms of quality and size which one would I be better of Convert RMVB to AVI Convert RMVB to MPEG2 Select and convert a bunch files to DVD (which i think also is mpeg2) I see DVD movies these days uses mpeg2 format too so would I save more space if I convert each individual file and end up at around 650MB or would i save more space if i select say 20 files and choose the dvd type conversion? |

You're ALWAYS going to be better off with an AVI file, something like NeroDigital will give you a nice mp4 file, or WinAVI Convertor even. MPEG2 is an old codec, you should be looking to the future with H.264 which is similar to the VC-1 codec IIRC, which is BluRay/HDDVD :) |
