2007-02-08 02:28:00 | BTW. You're very naughty Steve, you should've posted this thread in the chat forum. Hey Murray look above at the Sticky (on the main PF page) - that is why I posted here and I also said that I was referring only to important tech issues, not chit chat. As far as your list of suggestions, I'll go for the first one  ...ah yes on these hot days a cold beer hits the spot. But it is not about being too attached to PF1 - at the moment I am trying to fix the PC at my wife's preschool (cannot afford the time or $$-ripoff to send it to a repair shop) as they need it ASAP. And there must others who may have a pressing tech situation to sort out. If PF1 is back online Saturday, no big deal, but they will have heaps to do and I suppose PF1 will be at the bottom of priorities.

2007-02-08 04:02:00 | Thank you for those suggestions, Murray. Not all of your options are currently available (No, I won't give details. Imagination will suit) but several of them are highly appealing. I just hope nobody posts a thread later asking which activities we chose...

2007-02-08 04:50:00 | Steve, a few suggestions: Try alcohol. Read a book. Watch telly. Exercise. Have a party or go out on the town (invite the misses even). Talking of the misses (hisses), how about a quick romp in the sack. I'm sure the good people at Fairfax will have the server up in running in no time at all, so it shouldn't be such an onerous task as you would imagine. What's that about Al Bundy? Take the misses shopping. Hey settle down guys, it's joke ok. Back up your system and clean out all the crud and malware. Get a real hobby. Get a hair cut. Get a job and; Do some freakin work for a change. Do some maintenance on the house, boat, car, lawn, garden, misses. Repair all your broken relationships. Gee, well you'll better pray the servers going to be down for a good deal longer then, eh! Acquire a pet. Walk, play with, cuddle said pet. Meet the family. Phone someone. Telecom, the IRD, your ISP, bank, you local MP, etc, all do very jobs of occupying time. In no time at all, it will be the next day and you'll have advanced exactly zilch. Get an education. Volunteer your services in the big office move. Introduce yourself to the neighbours. Try alcohol. In other words.....get a life? Nice mate. Quite an extensive list....need to prioritise. Some might have to wait until next weekend when I don't have the kids..

2007-02-08 09:44:00 | The Good thing with the new chat room http://chatf1.pcresolutions.co.nz/ is that you can do that :D as it has an Archive, that you can go back & look & see if any one answered your question, plus you may find you may get answer right away.Off Topic, but I can't seem to get past the registration process on that link - enter all the details and press the <Register> button and nothing happens...:waughh: | johcar (6283) | |
2007-02-08 10:23:00 | Off Topic, but I can't seem to get past the registration process on that link - enter all the details and press the <Register> button and nothing happens...:waughh:You aren't using Firefox 3.0 are you? If so there is a known bug in FF3 that causes this problem - and as 3.0 is only an alpha browser I can't be bothered fixing it in that version, as no other browser has the same problem. Try another browser. | Erayd (23) | |
2007-02-08 10:26:00 | Quite an extensive list.... I like the third from the bottom. Reckon I'll introduce myself as Metla  from Wanganui just to see if they let me in to help move the office, or if they'll call the police.

2007-02-08 12:23:00 | In other words . . . . . get a life? Nice mate . Quite an extensive list . . . . need to prioritise . Some might have to wait until next weekend when I don't have the kids . . Yeah but, only if you really really want one . Some of us are just incurable sad bastards who spend way too much time on the net reading stupid lists and posting stupid posts and making stupid lists . No worries, I aim to please . . . mostly . ***, up your game, sort it yourself . Oops, sorry my fault . There's now a new addition to the list folks: Spend some time learning to prioritise your new life . HTH

2007-02-08 12:45:00 | Spend some time learning to prioritise your new life.1. Checking PF1 every 5 minutes to see if it's back yet. 2. Everything else, adjusted to fit around checking PF1. Have I got it right Murray?
