523787 2007-02-08 06:55:00 I have a problem which I hope someone can help with.
I discovered a folder - c:\windows\exefld which i knew from experience shouldn't be there. I found out it was placed there by the virus/worm Win32.Bagle. hn@mm (via google search) which I managed to eliminate using a removal tool. AVG free ,which I was running came up with errors while running it so I uninstalled it with the intention of reinstalling. Next problem - I couldn't install any antivirus programs ( AVG, Nortons, Avast, Panda etc.) & no online antivirus programs found anything - so I used the removal tool. Also I have tried to start in safe mode but can't! - computer freezes with BSOD. Have also run a sfc /scannow with no errors.
Any fixit suggestions, appart from a format please??

Does the BSOD say the name of a file?

Thanks I did run Trojan Remover but it didn't find anything.
No files mentioned but the BSOD says:

"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again,
follow these steps:
Check for viruses on you computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives or hard disk controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated.
Run CHKDSK /F to check for hard drive corruption, and then restart your computer.

...done all that too.
