| 523530 | 2007-02-07 12:30:00 | I have a relatives PC . It has win xp . Win is authenticated, verified, legal tested online (and authenticated by ph on one occasion by me during an install) . But no sticker on the box, and the cd is copied . I want to sell it (Stop laughing, it runs some xp apps ok, 128mb ram, 40gb, 466 or 477 whatever mhz) I believe it's a legal install . But - no sticker, no OEM disk just copy with the details . Say i wanted to sell it on trademe, how would I do that? (suprisingly good box for it's age, top price in it's day) |

| 523531 | 2007-02-07 12:48:00 | to do it legally you need a liscense sticker.......as it's a legal version you can contact microsoft and buy a new cd and liscense sticker for $50 then just use an app like 'magic jellybean keyfinder' to change the installed key......if that wont work, and theres a possibility that could happen, then you'll just need to run a 'repair' install.......that'll set up the sytsem to accept the new key and you wont lose any thing........just dont do a clean install if this step becomes necessary or else you'll lose all the installed apps etc...... | drcspy (146) | ||

Is it worth doing so? Give another $50/- to Microsoft for such an old machine is just not justifiable. BTW how much is such an old machine worth? |
