| 524606 | 2007-02-14 07:30:00 | Hiya, something thats bugging me is when playing a game of quake II (uses OpenGL), if i use windowed mode i cant see any of the desktop the screen just gets small with black all around it, and when i exit (wether im in full screen or not) when the game exits all i see is a black screen and the mouse, i can seem to navigate the desktop in the dark ei when i press next on winamp the song will change so the computer hasn't locked up. if i go to start shutdown, when the programs start exiting eg explorer and everything the black screen stops and i can see the desktop again but i can't stop it from shutting down quick enough (using start>run shutdown -a). I didn't have this problem after installing my geforce 7900GS. it seems like something is hanging that it making the screen black but i don't know what it is? Running windows xp with amd athlon 64 and geforce 7900GS any ideas as to why i get the black screen upon exit of quake II? p.s. quake II is still awesome :P especially aq2 |

| 524607 | 2007-02-14 08:15:00 | No idea about your problem, but if you didn't know, this is a cool update to quake 2: www.quake2evolved.com It might even fix your problem. But maybe aq2 is as well, i dont know. |

| 524609 | 2007-02-14 09:21:00 | had a quick chat to a quake guru. he seems to thtink most likly driver issue or a config issue. try moving the q2 config to another location and let q2 rebuild it. try diffeernet video card drivers. HTH |
