524213 2007-02-13 00:34:00 There have been probs with that Transformation pack.

Some people have screwed up their systems, after installing it.

And some people have problems uninstalling it, if they don't like/want it.

So, I would think about it, before installing it.

I ask them if they don't know what it is why would they think they need it?
One lady still has an elderly PC running Win98, quite happily too - as I pointed out shes 4 O/Ss behind now, so who cares?

524215 2007-02-13 01:59:00 I installed Royale, an MS theme for XP, it's not vista, and it's not supposed to be, but it is much prettier (IMHO) than XP's basic theme.

524217 2007-02-13 05:54:00 If you want XP to look like Vista, this pack is a lot better, and the start button is round instead of being cut off at the top like in the Vista transformation pack. Here is the link
vistastyles.org and I have had no problems what so ever.

Hi, I dont think people buy Vista because of how it looks, but because of what it does!

524220 2007-02-13 08:24:00 I have vista OEM full home premium and it is fantastic i have had no problems that everyone keeps talking it up about saying it wont do this and that yada yada. I have found it to be way more stable than xp and my internet spped has greatly increased from 2.8mbps to 3.4mbps per second since day of installation, trust me i have tried it with xp and my speed goes down install vista it goes back up. Pages open way faster very smooth aero glass features love em all. Im also using the free 90 day trial of microsoft one care and its also a very handy program keeps your pc up to date and does weekly or daily or monthly tune ups when you choose.

Now im aware of all you MS lets ditch vista people out their , this thread is for those who do like Vista. So for those of you who dont move on have a chuckle and say nothing cause im not interested by your bitter comments.

524221 2007-02-13 08:41:00 Hi, I dont think people buy Vista because of how it looks, but because of what it does!

Really!

Apart from corporate users, who I suggest will be a little more circumspect, I think by far the vast majority of people will acquire Vista with a new PC, will be totally unaware of what it is in any way except the superficial .

Next cab off the rank will be those who ask for it, persuaded by the massive marketing dollars being spent, that it is something they must have, but are generally unaware of what benefits it brings, as Pctek has suggested .

By far the smallest group of people purchasing Vista, will be people who have the savvy to now exactly what they want, the technical merits of what they are purchasing and have an actual real need for it . That group will in fact be minuscule, but will grow as more programmes, drivers and hardware become available which are optimised or only run on Vista . This group will also grow as techs gear up with Vista in order to service their customers .
