| 524150 | 2007-02-12 03:22:00 | My mobo's sound is stuffed so need a cheap sound card that has Vista dvrs. (I have an old Aureal Vortex2 but this, like most other sound cards, is not a goer under Vista). Anyone know of a low-end PCI card known to work? | linw (53) | ||

Yeah, it's damned hard to plug those ol' spkrs into software! But it is true that Vista has a VERY different way of dealing with sound which has caused much angst, particularly from people who have expensive cards that won't work with Vista. |

| 524156 | 2007-02-13 09:23:00 | Tried that but all I got was a loud buzzing noise:D The extra frustrating part is that Vista thinks my mobo sound is working fine. It shows the signal bouncing up and down in the volume control and the digital output is there as well. Pity there is just nothing on the line out socket! |
