2007-02-19 00:58:00 | If Windows sees the device then the games can, are you sure you exhausted all the options within the game configuration?, You would most probably have to select wheel" as the preferred control device within the game, then assign each movement to an action, so select "accelerator" and depress the pedal, select "steer left" and move the wheel to the left. etc etc. I think your real close to getting this working. Well, it's got me knackered! I loaded a MS cart programme and after changing from keyboard to wheel in Options away it went. I uninstalled and reinstalled this Race Driver Super V8 programme and although the steering wheel option appeared, it simply won't let me select it. My thoughts are that there has to a driver or some software to interface the game with XP. Ive googled the world down and tipped the Codemasters website upside down but I cant find anyone else thats encountered this problem let alone fixed it. A couple of questions: The programme came with two disks although the packet they store in has provision for three. Could there be a driver disk missing? Whilst installing, the programme has never asked for a third disk. XP shows the wheel and pedals as being a 2-axis 4 button Joystick w/view finder rudder Ive tried to change this to wheel but keep getting the message to consult device manager. Everything appears fine there, no ?or!s. Anyway, the wheels and pedals appear to work fine in Control Panel/Game Controllers and the wheels and pedals work fine in the MC carts programme. :help: again

2007-02-19 02:21:00 | I have a MS Sidewinder Precision Pro joystick(Gameport) and a MS Sidewinder Force Feedback USB Wheel connected to my computer. Playing V8 Super Cars 3 and 2 I have to remove the J/S entry from the Control Panel/Games Controllers or else they won't see the steering wheel. The same with the Need For Speed games, where as GT Legends and Rfactor you can have them both connected and they see the wheel. Trevor :)

2007-02-19 02:23:00 | Have a quick squizz at the thread I made asking about it on the kiwisimracing forum, they (i think published a link for drivers, and a contact for teh NZ distributer) That aside, If its currently loaded as a joystick in Windows, then you may well have to select joystick within the game. kiwisimracing.net.nz

There's still the matter of the two spare plugs. One is a standard LPT1 (printer) one and one a keyboard. I haven't tried plugging them all in yet as I didn't want a puff of smoke. Was sort of hoping somebody would know what the score was there. |

2007-02-22 03:02:00 | Still no luck guys. I tried what you suggested Trev and removed the existing driver via control panel/system/hardware/device manager but when I restarted the computer it just reinstalled it. Metla, on that racing site a contributer by the name of GOJACK says there are some drivers that need to be installed and he is prepared to provide them. Any chance of you approaching him to see if he'd forward them to you or directly to me if that's more conveinent. There'll be a few beers in it for both of you if come to Mount Maunganui. :D Actually, anybody with a genuine copy of V8 super cars or any other programme with Aussie or NZ tracks on and who wishes to sell same, please PM me.
