523954 2007-02-15 06:51:00 Do you have a photo by any chance?

I may be able to post it at racesim central and see if anyone can identify it.

Edit.

My mistake, Lifetime ban, Though Ill be able to ask at a couple of other forums.

I’ll get one tomorrow Mets. It’s down our local pub at the moment (belongs to the publican) so I hope the pictures aren’t too blurry. ;)

That’s a new excuse. I’m off to the pub dear, got to photograph a racing car simulator.
Jeeeez, you’re a legend. :D

523958 2007-02-16 01:39:00 Nice bit of gear, I'll report back if I can find anything.

Have you tried loading Generic Windows drivers to run it?, In some cases you can get wheels running on joystick drivers, or generic wheel drivers, just need to assign em under game control options in the Control panel.

Personally I would suggest throwing away the wheel and attaching a new one, They are dirt cheap and its the cockpit thats worth all the coin (though I fail to see the attraction, My "racing cockpit" consists of a lazboy and a wheel mounted on an extending arm.

anyway, ...uh...yeah

523959 2007-02-16 02:08:00 Righto, Thanks to the good people at kiwisimracing.net

kiwisimracing.net.nz

They have identified it as a hypersimulator

http://www.hyperstimulator.com/

Looking at the plugs, I have no idea why you would have three of them, Probally make more sense in the flesh.

523960 2007-02-16 02:50:00 Thanks a million Metla.

Yep I've already suggested a new wheel and pedels but he'd like to keep it original if possible.

The next step is to either locate the proper drivers or find some generic ones I guess.

The computer doesn't have a games port but I could install one.

The three plugs have me fooled too but I suggest they're to operate on different computers or even a X-Box?

What sort of plugs connects to a X-Box?

Anyway, I'm off to have a couple on the pretense that you need more photos. ;)

523961 2007-02-17 04:22:00 Update and further questions .

We bought a Game Port – USB adaptor from Dicky Smith, installed it and lo and behold it was recognised, (WinXP),

Then went to Games Controllers and surprise surprise the steering wheel moved the + across the X axis . So we calibrated that for lock to lock and all was well .

Then we noticed the pedals moved the + up and down the y axis so we thought we’d have lift off .

Ok, we saved all the settings, and restarted the computer and the super cars programme but nothing worked . Another chap produced a Microsoft racing programme but that wouldn’t go either . No steering brakes or accelerator there either .

What I can’t fathom is the computer seems to recognise the hardware (Steering Wheel and Pedals) but the programmes don’t?

However, both programmes recognise the keyboard and mouse .

:help:

523962 2007-02-17 07:57:00 If Windows sees the device then the games can, are you sure you exhausted all the options within the game configuration?, You would most probably have to select wheel" as the preferred control device within the game, then assign each movement to an action, so select "accelerator" and depress the pedal, select "steer left" and move the wheel to the left. etc etc.

I think your real close to getting this working.

523963 2007-02-17 18:52:00 An oldie but a goodie is Podracer. More accurately called Star Wars Episode 1, Racer.

That is one of the few racing games that stayed on my computer for more then a month, So good
