524573 2007-02-13 23:33:00 Most likely your PC's PSU (Power Supply Unit) has done a sudden death. Cheap enough to replace. DSE have reasonable quality ones, and even if that doesn't turn out to be the problem a spare is good to have around. Greg (193)
524574 2007-02-13 23:38:00 Have a look to see if any lights at the back of the case turn on (eg. on the Power supply).

Another thing to check is to take the cover off the PC,and see if any lights on the motherboard turn on when you plug it in.

Greg is probably right, but it's worth checking just in case.

.

Lights at the back?? Never seen a PSU with lights.....
And if the MB LEDs light up it still doesn't eliminate the PSU.

524577 2007-02-14 00:14:00 Have you checked the power supply from the wall? Connect a bedside lamp and if doesn't go, check the power supply fuse. Bryan (147)

Any new ATX Power supply will work, of equal or greater wattage rating (eg. 300W, 400W or more).

524579 2007-02-14 00:56:00 Could be a faulty switch on the front of the case too. Sweep (90)

Its not the watts thats important as such. How many amps on the +12v matters more.
Aim for at least 20.
And brand - Enermax is a anice reliable quality PSU. Yours is ....what? Some unknown generic thing?

524581 2007-02-14 04:25:00 Unplug the power cord from the PSU, and plug it in again. If there is a power switch on the back of the PSU (NOT a "115/230V" sliding switch ;)) , turn it off then on again.

It's not unknown for faults to have a simple cause.
