2007-02-13 05:46:00 | Hi A neighbour of mine had a failure with his HDD and he is getting a local shop to upgrade the machine with using some of the existing. This is what the shop suggested him: 350W Hi Power PSU NV7100GS 256MB PCI-E 1GBDDR2 533Mhz AMD Socket AM2 Motherboard AMD Athlon64 3200+ AM2 CPU 16X DVDR-RW Dual Layer Drive Any comments, good or bad, about the MB and the CPU? Thanks G

2007-02-13 06:08:00 | Would need to know brand / model to comment on anything except that: A 3200+ seems a bit low. Not much price difference between that and say a 3800+ or even a dual-core.

2007-02-13 06:17:00 | looks like they want it to be able to run Vista Home Premium. If that is the goal, I would suggest going with a Geforce 7300 rather than a 7100. | Greven (91) | |
2007-02-13 06:28:00 | I would go for a Dual Core Intel CPU and a 775 socket mother board. Trevor :)

2007-02-13 06:34:00 | I would go for a Dual Core Intel CPU and a 775 socket mother board. Trevor :) Only if it is a Core 2 Duo - pentium D is crap.

2007-02-13 08:07:00 | I suppose it all depends on how much they are gonna charge for it. Couple of hundred bucks - bargain. Thousand bucks - ripoff. | Tukapa (62) | |
