524713 2007-02-14 23:30:00 I see that Comodo, on their website, have a suite of "Protection Freeware Downloads". Are any of these likely to be better than, AVG, Sygate, Spybot, Windows defender & AdAware ??? PJ :help: Poppa John (284)
524714 2007-02-14 23:56:00 Gidday Poppa.

The firewall is good to go, I'm using it myself (a sure way to kill off any promise it may have had). I don't know anything about the others though, except that the AV is still in beta and buggy so best to avoid.

524715 2007-02-15 17:44:00 to be honest (And not trying to start a flame war) AVG isnt really as good as its cracked up to be (i speak from experience) something like Avast (also free) seems to work better.

Apart from that, it all looks pretty good, and should keep you safe.

524716 2007-02-15 21:34:00 Thanks so far. Any other comments??? PJ Poppa John (284)
524717 2007-02-15 22:08:00 Nope, Comodo works fine here too and as MP said the other programs at the mo, some are in beta, so maybe buggy and may crash. Best to avoid at the mo.

And another version of Comodo has come out today, by the looks of it.

524718 2007-02-16 00:02:00 Hi PJ,
I've been using Comodo Firewall for a while now, But have left ZoneAlarm on my old pc that my sister's using, as Comodo is a bit more tricky to use, what with the odd popups that ask permission for this and that!
Haven't read as much about the whole package, as regarding the little I have read on the forums, people are not going for the entire suite at the moment.
As Speedy has mentioned, I'd leave the whole deal alone for now.:)
By the way, the new AVG Antispyware is a good add-on for your spy scanning in those hidden places!!
Used to be Ewido. :)
