| 525995 | 2007-02-19 22:17:00 | this is the wi-fi router i have: linuxdevices.com it says it has a "reverse SMA connector" for the antenna that it has. I want to buy this antenna here: www.dse.co.nz but it says it has a RP-SMA male connector. is this rp-sma male connector the same connector as a "reverse sma connector"? So will this screw directly onto my wi-fi router connector? |

Any SMA male connector has an internal thread on its outside part; the female has an external thread . The standard SMA male connector has a pin in the centre; the female has a socket . The reversed male connector has a socket in the centre; the female has a pin . You could say that the RP male has a female outer and female inner; the RP female has a male inner and male outer . The standard SMAs are just confused . :D |

I bought a $50 DSE aerial that made a slight difference to signal levels with a DSE WAP but absolutely no difference with a Netgear WAP - I suggest the reason for this may be an impedance mis-match? | johnd (85) | ||

Im getting constant 48mbps from upstairs in my house which is about 30 metres away from my wi-fi router . it goes through doors and i also get 48mbps with the room lights on and an electric fan and tv and mobile phone on . woooohooo . If u have having ur wi-fi signal drop or no signal, get a new antenna . the ones that come with ur router are only 2db and the one i got is 7db . My signal strength right now is -65db |
