525919 2007-02-19 19:52:00 When Ctrl Alt Del is pressed on my home pc, it goes straight into Task Manager. But on another pc (that I am tweaking) Ctrl Alt Del goes into Windows Security (which has the option to choose Task Manager). How can I get it to go straight into Task Manager? Strommer (42)
525920 2007-02-19 19:57:00 You have to go into control panel and user accounts and then change the way users log on or off, then tick use the welcome screen. Speedy Gonzales (78)

There must be another way (cannot find it via Google).

On my desktop there is no Welcome screen when booting up, and Ctrl Alt Del goes straight to Task Manager. Somehow I tweaked something but I cannot recall what it was. On the office pc (the one I am tweaking/adjusting) I want to keep things simple, with no welcome screen log on.

525922 2007-02-19 20:43:00 Well if theres only one person on this PC, it doesnt actually bring up the welcome screen where u have to log in.

When u tick use the welcome screen. It just says welcome before you get into XP.

Well it doesnt here. Thats the only way I know, to get it to switch between the task manager and the Windows Security Window.

Unless u used something like TweakUI, or whatever those tweaking programs are called.

Yes, I ran that yesterday. That got rid of having to enter a password - now trying to get Task Manager with just Ctrl Alt Del.

Have not yet done what Speedy suggested since in the process of partitioning the hd and making a drive image before installing SP2.

Speedy, maybe I did use Tweak UI or one of the PowerToys.

525925 2007-02-20 03:26:00 Now,this is the way:
If your system is xp pro, then follow this steps:start-run-input"gpedit.msc"-... Sorry,I'm using the system with Chinese language,so I can't explain these Chinese words into English suitably.Which I could tell you is "Ctrl Alt Del goes into Windows Security" followed by the Windows 2000.

That did it Speedy. Thanks!

What threw me was "tick use the welcome screen", as I thought this meant a password entry.

Yeah I know ... it just took me awhile to get to doing it amidst other work. ;)
