526817 2007-03-25 01:35:00 Oh, I see. A few months ago I tried to connect all three computers in the setup that I have mentioned in page 5 of this thread, but whenever I bridge the two connections, the WiFi Ad Hoc on "B" (the one that is linked to two other machines) gets disconnected, while "A" said that it was still connected to "B" wirelessly. The crossover LAN connection was fine during the process of bridging.

Chees :)

526819 2007-04-21 23:16:00 This is weird. The USB port that I had used to insert the WiFi adapter conked out within the first month of usage (I have tried inserting USB memory stick into the same port, but no signs of life detected in the computer). I then switched the adapter to another USB port, and the same thing happened again! Is it a normal occurrence with USB WiFi adapters?

Cheers :)

526822 2007-04-21 23:46:00 This forum is ******* me off. It keeps killing my posts.

What it said was, altho on some mobos some port/s wont work in the front if they're plugged into the back, theyre jumpered on the mobo. Somehow theyre connected.

I would also check device manager to see what comes up here once u plug it in.

And are there any messages or errors saying anything, after u plug whatever device in?

And r u sure noone has disabled USB 2 in the BIOS, if none of them work.
