| 526730 | 2007-02-21 07:41:00 | Gidday peoples! I have my desktop pc connected to a dynalink wired router. Our laptop plugs into this when needed. I'd like to go wireless for both as long as I don't get a slower connection for my gaming on the desktop... Whats the best way to go about it (what to buy) Suggestions appreciated....! |

And you will get a slower connection, ATM nothing beats ethernet for speed, also pings are lower and for online gaming pings are everything, though in saying that the pings wound probably only be a few higher depending on the range... |

If you get one with a four port switch you would then plug your desktop into the access point, and connect the laptop wireless. (I cant see the point in having the desktop wireless if it just sits in one place) But if you must you will need a PCI wifi card. Then enable WEP to make things harder to crack into. |

I f you want to game and go online, DO NOT use wireless, as it has too much lag. |
