| 527943 | 2007-02-25 03:59:00 | The Vista desktop and folder icons are so boring. I have looked and found that within Vista there are some icons avaliable in different files such as imageres.dll and SHELL32.dll. However, how can I globally obtain the ability to allow change to all folders so that I can use better icons on the various folders, shortcuts and the like? |

| 527946 | 2007-02-25 11:12:00 | A year or so back, I downloaded a free program called ActivIcons by CursorArts. From memory, it would do what you want. I can't be certain, as I didn't get around to running it then (the d/l was one of those "fit of enthusiasm late at night" acts) and it became victim to a drastic cleanout when I needed space. I've sometimes wondered about giving it another try, so would be interested to hear if you do find it successful. |
