Also i got question that if i hav a 256k BB connection and i want to watch streaming vdo 300k will i hav lots of buffering or normal playback.Plz help | polo (6383) | ||

| 527743 | 2007-02-24 22:26:00 | I am on that plan and various speed tests show that it is very close to being 256/128, unless it is at peak times e.g. evenings. Its about 8x what I was getting on dial up. Since I do not watch streaming video, it suits me just fine. Although I do occasionally view YouTubes and Google Videos - sometimes YouTubes can be viewed normally but most of the time it will take time to download and view with no pauses. | Strommer (42) | ||
| 527744 | 2007-03-31 06:30:00 | I am on this plan and can't download from rapdishare or similar download sites. It says I have reached the limit for free downloader or your IP is downloading. Emailed to slingshot to ask about IP being static or dynamic but getting no reply and phoned but just getting answer service and put on waiting for ages. In the end I just get fed up. I don't think their help is good, given this standard. Considering moving to other where I can download from similar sites like rapidshare. Can someone recommend another service? Thank you in advance. |

Try ringing in the morning before there is a queue . When I have called the help desk during the day or early in the morning, I either get straight through or only have to wait a short time . |

| 527749 | 2007-07-15 06:50:00 | The plan still exists for those currently using it. However for new customers or existing customers wanting to change, the 25GB plan no longer exists. As for rapidshare, Slingshot use a transparent proxy, which rapidshare doesn't like too much. Therefore you will usually get errors trying to download from rapidshare (.com and .de). Email support is quite lax on Slingshot, generally I would get a reply 3-4 weeks after the initial email was sent. |

| 527750 | 2007-07-15 12:40:00 | my mate is on this plan and he has trouble watching any streaming videos properly. which is a shame because most of the new zealand new sites like stuff and nzherald etc all feature streaming video and 256k doesnt cut it! youtube is torture for him. he can normally get up to 40 kB/s when using torrents etc which is pretty good for 256k. now and then he gets speeds of up to 200 kB/s, but im guessing its to do with maybe telecom or slingshot doing network or system maintenance.. its a nice bonus to have now and then | Term_X (560) | ||
