2007-02-23 07:47:00 | I want to make a backup copy of some of my dvds. I tried using my Nero 6 (which I have used for cds ,no problem). Nero will not make an image of my dvd, says internal error. I have been told to try 'DVD SHRINK' and or 'DVD ENCRYPTER' but not having heard of these programs before was wondering what they were like and also why Nero will not work with my Liteon dvd burner. Any help would be much appreciated. | gradebdan (2186) | |
2007-02-23 07:55:00 | What kind of DVD's? Ones youve made, movie DVD's? If movie dvd's it'll be coz theyre protected, and u need something like DVDshrink or Decryptor to rip them. Nero's copy option alone wont work, like u found out.

2007-02-23 08:03:00 | You'll have to search for them, as i dont think either of them are around now. (Well the last version maybe around). Both died coz of copyright issues in the US.

2007-02-24 10:30:00 | Your problem is simply size, a blank DVD is 4.7Gb a movie DVD is considerably more. DVD shrink does exactly that, it shrinks it. Copy protected DVD's, particuarly those with Sony Arcos will generate a read error when DVD Shrink tries to image the DVD | sinndisco (4059) | |
2007-02-24 10:47:00 | Unless you use a dual-layer blank DVD. | Erayd (23) | |
2007-02-24 10:52:00 | 99 percent of commercial DVD's can be ripped with DVD Shrink, and they all have copy protection. In the rare cases where it cant do it then DVD Decrypter or the more recently released DVDFab Decrypter should take care of teh bizzo. DVDFab Decrypter 3.0.8.0 (02/09/2007) is a simple version of DVDFab Platinum. It copies entire DVD movie to hard disk, and removes all the protections (CSS, RC, RCE, APS, UOPs and Sony ARccOS) while copying. Then run the ISO it generates through DVD Shrink.
