527526 2007-02-24 04:11:00 Hi All.

I went Go Large about 4 weeks ago.
Wont repeat the same comments about slow speed.
My P2P File sharing speed is dreadful during the day at about 4-6kb.
At night abot 26kb after 12pm.
If I change plans will my P2P Downloads speed up?
I know its not a priority P2P at any IP .
I have been there with them on that topic before.

Could someone plaese make a comment,I would really appreaciate any help.:)

Not 100% sure, but I don’t think so, I think Xtra is limiting P2P on all plans (& they always have, even on the older plans)

Hope this is of some help :)

527528 2007-02-24 05:09:00 Hi Stu

Hey thanks for your comment.
We have so much control on P2P it just blows me away at times.
Im P2P music.
So I can check at what speed the English and Americans P2P at.
It leaves me cold.
They are downloading at between 50 to 900 kb on average.
I have ben trying to download a Kiwi band since 9.00am todat at 4kb on average.
I do not believe foriegn countries would tolerate taht speed at any time of the day.
The file size is 350mg.
Its like watching paint dry.
I download 30-50 gig a month,on P2P.
So I guess that is where my Question is.
Should I just stay on the Go Large plan?
When you look at the speed,it is pointless if P2P is choked so much at any time of the day to change.
I guess as much as you want to download at slow speed is reasonable if you live here.
Just Unreal.
Im not surprised Telecom Lost a Fortune this year at all.

527529 2007-02-24 23:02:00 I am on IHug. I mine was going at 400KB/s the whole time. It was limited by the number of simultaneous connections. I am sure if I had some faster ones or more then it would have gone up further.
Move to IHug as Xtra just plain sucks.

527530 2007-02-24 23:22:00 And if XP SP2 is installed, this also cuts the # of concurrent connections to 10.

You'll find this out by going to event viewer in control panel, (under application or system), if it says eventid 4226, thats what it means.

Thats what SP2 did (lowered the connections for P2P).

SP1 isn't restricted in any way only SP2 is.

527531 2007-02-24 23:34:00 Thats right Speedy, to fix this you can Remove the limit on TCP connections

Go here www.speedguide.net

Only if you leave it like that. Change it as you feel the need. Yes I do have SP2 installed and I did not feel the need to change it as it only affects attempts to connects and not actual connections.

Leave what at that? And change what? You cant change it unless u go to that lvl site download the file and it changes the limit for you.

Exactly what it says. You can edit the number yourself if you know the offset to use and you can set it to what ever you like. As I said I have mine at SP2 standard as it is only connection attempts per second and not actual connections.

If u say so. Yeah or download the file which will let u change the number to whatever, to save u editing it.
