1411751 2015-11-22 23:36:00 Does anyone really understand the "Photos" app in Windows 10? I seem to have things called "Collections", "Albums", "Folders", "Camera Roll" and various other folders called "Pictures" organised by user name or drive letter. It all seems a total mess to me and makes locating any picture a nightmare. In addition, some appear in "OneDrive" but many don't. Who has been able to master this app and save all their photos in a sensible way? Richard (739)
1411752 2015-11-23 01:17:00 Folders - locations where the Photo app pulls photos from. On my PC, that's from my OneDrive, and from several local folders on my computer.

Albums - the Photos app automatically creates Albums. This doesn't change where they are stored, it's just another way of viewing them. Not all your photos will show under the album tab, as an album is normally automatically created when there are several photos from the same day or event. The Photos app pulls them together for you into an album.

Camera roll - it's a Onedrive folder, where photos taken on a phone are uploaded too, using the OneDrive automatic backup option.

Saved Photos - otherwise similar to Camera Roll, just instead of photos you've taken, photos you've saved.

I share your pain. I use the 'Pictures' folder as the top-level folder for my photography (but moved to where I want it). The 'Camera Roll' & 'Saved Pictues' folders appeared with Win 10, but I simply deleted them and they seem to have taken the hint.

I'm pretty sure thats what this folder is for

This is what I do too, don't use one drive and have it disabled
