1411478 2015-11-16 23:07:00 Hi all,

Just finished installing upgrade v1511/10586- offered as an upgrade, which has to be the equivalent of my first W10 upgrade from W7 as it has taken two hours, has all the blue circle showing situation and all the auto restarts that happened in the first upgrade.

Things like Edge, etc and the start apps are improved and I think is even faster than before-- and that was a spectacular improvement in itself.

Has anybody else been offered this?

I am still learning what else I now have been given-- and apparently "many tweaks etc" have happened

There never was any thought of going back to W 7 pro, after the first upgrade and now even less need- it appears be a sharp improvement on the original upgrade - or a polishing of the first.

:banana,:)

1411480 2015-11-17 00:05:00 Just finished the 'upgrade', yes, it took a long time to complete; I don't really see any significant improvement, though.

It seems that we spent quite a large percentage of the time in updating Windows than actually using it! How long is Win10 going to stay like this?

Imagine , if you bought a brand new car and you have to send it back to their workshop for service every few days. LOL

1411481 2015-11-17 00:22:00 Just 2 cents worth of advise. After every upgrade and even a fresh install I always run sfc /scannow from the admin command prompt. Almost every time it finds faults and fixes them.

One of the common ones is emails wont send beforehand unless sfc /scannow is run.

1411482 2015-11-17 00:24:00 Did a clean install from the ISO of 1151, last night.

One thing I did notice the other day was the drivers for this wireless printer. If I decide to reinstall, I dont have to install the canon drivers first then connect a cable (they dont work now anyway).

Just as long as the printer's wireless has been configured. All I have to do is turn it on search for updates, the drivers install from windowsupdate

And you're good to go. Wireless printing and scanning still works.

Only thing is Canon navigator no longer works. But you can still scan with Paint, or any other program that has a scan option

Decided to install Start10, and Fences, (both from Stardock). Fences hides the icons on the desktop when you double click on the desktop.

1411487 2015-11-17 05:17:00 One thing this latest upgrade did do is change the default PDF viewer back to the app from Nitro. Didn't change any other default programs though gary67 (56)
