I've been given a surplus Bluefox BF-60 bluetooth 'hands free' unit (the one with the solar charger on the back) but it has no instruction manual.

I haven't used BT for several years because my old unit was problematic for a variety of reasons, and receiving calls was unreliable, so I gave up trying to use it.

A web search failed to find any information on this unit, but it seems to be in good condition, so does anybody here have one of these and could supply me with the basics I need?

Cheers

Mmmmm...Thanks for that, though it doesn't seem to gel with the unit I have, probably because it is a headset while the BF-60 is a visor-hung unit for hands-free use in vehicles, but I'm attracted by the simplicity and I think I may be able to suss it out from the headset stuff. My main concern is that I might cock-up my phone, but on reflection I can turn off Bluetooth if required so I can't really do much harm.

As I recall it, my previous Bluetooth unit needed too many manual actions to answer a call, and somehow I seemed to lose more than I managed to answer, though it worked OK when it felt like it.

1405047 2015-07-22 04:05:00 Well, I found two Canadian video tutorials which helped somewhat, but were somewhat short on detail. However, my phone (Samsung GT-55360T) now recognises the Blue-Fox unit and is paired, but that seems to be as far as it wants to go.

So, I did find enough information to pair it, but it didn't seem follow the illustrated sequence (I didn't need to enter a name or the 0000 code as described in the tutorials) and it only downloaded two phone numbers from my phone directory. I've since searched high and low for any possible contacts for the manufacturer or any of their sales agencies, all of whom seem to be missing in action, so I suspect that the Company may be out of business.

Next step may have to be a trial to see if it can call me on the land line, then see if it will function on a call-back, or I might have to make a retro Web search via the Go Back Machine

1405048 2015-07-22 12:24:00 Well, it transpires that the Blue Fox company was going great guns for several years and the BF-60 was getting rave reviews, then it seems they were taken over by new owners, after which the company went through several changes of owner/coy . name, with concurrent changes in URL, then finally vanished off the face of the earth .

The Way-Back machine was able to provide information via a couple of the changed urls, but nothing of any assistance was found .

So, unless I can find a user who has the manual, I'm stuffed and my $00 . 00 investment in this item is down the drain . :D

It has been an interesting exercise, and I might yet get it going .

Cheers
