1404320 2015-07-07 21:42:00 Story here (www.nzherald.co.nz):

The PHO system makes no sense other than giving the doctors a chance to make more money without doing anything!

1404321 2015-07-12 03:03:00 Unbelievable.
Doctors make enough money already!

But "she was struggling to feed er family"

Next time I get a big doctors bill I will use that line on them!

I hope she goes to jail for ripping us all off!

1404322 2015-07-12 04:29:00 Outrageous!!

But, let’s look at the detail as reported.

1: “A central Auckland doctor has been accused of ripping off the Ministry of Health for almost half a million dollars”.

Let’s get it strait, the Ministry of Health has no money! It is you & I, the Taxpayer, which has been ripped of.

2: “The charges, laid by the Ministry of Heath, cover alleged offending between October 2003 and September 2011 resulting in an overpayment to Gill of more than $435,500.

Why has it taken the Ministry of Health 11 years to round this thief up?

3: You can bet your life savings she was/is not the only one ripping us off, so why hasn’t the Ministry of Health instigated a audit to establish how many mates she has also playing the system?

Grrrrrr!

1404323 2015-07-12 04:49:00 It's 'an audit', not 'a audit'. :p Nick G (16709)

Sorry, but perfectly fine in my Spelling and Grammar checker oh smart one. :p

Now don't change the subject.

Actually even worse - "New Zealand Doctor reported that in November 2008, ministry officials and police raided Gill's Emily Place practice as part of an investigation." - so they have suspected her for 7 years and did bugger all til now!

I'd get another Spelling and Grammar checker then :p

And it's also straight, not strait, unless you're talking about an aquatic strait :p

Sadly for you, the rest of your post is even worse. It is impossible to make a system which prevents all corruption.

1404327 2015-07-12 07:48:00 Saddening to see the inevitable results of NZ's culture of greed.
Not surprising though, and not just doctors...

Chickens have a habit of coming home to roost.

Why don't you start another thread on how YOU became an authority on the "Queens English"? :p

Good point, and as I said in a previous post you can bet there are others up to the same tricks.

Tip the lot out I say, and whilst the honest ones will be aggrieved, they can thank their fellow doctors for the trouble.

The IRD have no trouble auditing people or professions they suspect might be cheating the system, so what’s holding up the Ministry of Health?
