| 1404597 | 2015-07-16 20:04:00 | It is generally agreed that the main cause of the cooling was the quantity of aerosol particles injected into the atmosphere during the intense increase in industrial activity following World War II. This was recognised as polluting the atmosphere, but also led to reflection of solar radiation that caused the atmosphere to cool. Clean Air Acts were promulgated by most of the main industrial nations, with the result that aerosols decreased, the incident radiation at the earth's surface increased and CO2 got to do its thing, giving us the increased temperatures that have been measured ever since. Incidentally, it is interesting to compare the temperature curves from the Northern & Southern Hemispheres over this period. The northern curves show the pronounced cooling discussed in Time, the southern curve shows a rise in temperature until the early '40s followed by a dip to the end of the decade when the warming trend takes over - the cooling is barely significant. That would be consistent with the aerosol production being mainly in the Northern Hemisphere. Ahhhh yes, I remember now, we once had a hole in the Ozone layer and one eminent scientist claimed that fixing it (whether we did or not is also up for debate) had caused Global Warming, which in turn has been found to be a myth, so its name has been conveniently changed to Climate Change. All this points to a very inexact science which doesn’t deserve the exposure it gets. Well that's how I see it anyway. :) |

Yes.. i probably would too.. and unfortunately it has left a lot of sour tastes in most mouths. Are humans responsible? probably.. yes. Is the sun responsible? yes again. Will we do anything about it? on the precipice... yes. but not happily. Que Sera |

Time to crawl back under my stone. |

He noticed that the Earths Magnetic Field moved and figured that could only be because the Earth was hollow and there were other Planets within. Interesting theory and he had a lot of eminent supporters. However, others disagreed and it turned out they were right. Full story can be found HERE (www.unmuseum.org) and makes fascinating reading. :) |

| 1404601 | 2015-07-17 01:52:00 | B.M, you're referring to a theory proposed in 1692 to support you? See, in case you didn't know, science improves over time. It is never fixed, or constant. Scientific theories are always open to being proved wrong, and if this is the case, overtime scientific consensus will change. But you want to look at the scientific consensus, say it doesn't suit you, and find any shred of evidence you can to support yourself, when you don't have a leg to stand on. As I stated previously, scientific studies return results on both extremes of the eventual consensus. Sadly, you appear not to be able to understand that one study returning differing results does not mean all the studies returning the same results must be untrue. |

If your point is because we hadn't discovered everything in the middle ages, we cannot trust science now, you're even more of an imbecile than I originally thought. |

Like Ive said before Nick, Go and get a job whilst you still know everything. I guess when you finally get to university youll start as Vice-Chancellor and work your way down. |

I guess when you finally get to university you’ll start as Vice-Chancellor and work your way down. Going to actually argue the point? I can handle personal insults, whatever. Doesn't worry me, I'm quite happy dishing them out too. But you should know to actually argue the point as well, you stupid **** |
