1411949 2015-11-28 03:34:00 All computer names are unique to each PC.. same workgroup name.

All PCs are communicating with each other flawlessly as they should other than this Win10; meaning that all my PC settings are correct.

1411950 2015-11-28 03:55:00 Only thing I can think of is, my Win8.1 machine has Nod32 installed whereas others haven't. Nod32 was installed after the home network was created and this Win10 joined this home network after Nod32 was installed.

Is Nod32 blocking it from showing up? How and where to check?

1411951 2015-11-28 04:00:00 NOD32 maybe blocking it somewhere. Look in its settings Speedy Gonzales (78)
1411952 2015-11-28 04:14:00 If the Nod32 is the straight Antivirus then it shouldn't be a problem, it doesn't have blocking features unless its some sort of nasty - If its the Smart Security which contains a firewall that may if the IP range is not set fully.

If you are using smart security then make sure its NOT in Automatic mode (default mode). If using Smart Security change it to interactive. support.eset.com

That brings up another thought if not using smart Security -- click on the search, type in Firewall Open the Windows firewall Via Control Panel, make sure the network is set to private (not public) If they are all OK, then on the left is the option to turn off the firewall, disable it, see if that makes any difference.

On Win10, 6847

1411954 2015-11-28 04:47:00 Awhhhhhhhhhh that looks like the problem. the W8.1 is on a public network where as teh W10 is private ( what it should be) Basically W8.1 is blocking W10. Public should only really be used in places like --well public, malls, kiosks type thing, so every man and his dog cant see or access shared files/Folders.

Change it Private - have a read www.eightforums.com Try option 2.

Notice on the W10 its connected to Private, different type of network to public.

Private is your own personal LAN within your home.

1411955 2015-11-28 07:43:00 That's the culprit! Turned ON Private network and everything works sweet as!

Thanks wainuitech. But, one thing still puzzles me, why I was able to communicate with other PCs even with Private network turned OFF?

1411956 2015-11-28 22:35:00 Its windows -- Enough said LOL  wainuitech (129)
1411957 2015-11-29 06:37:00 Solved sfc /scannow couldn't fix the corrupted files issue by doing a repair install of Win10. This seems to be a known issue when doing a 'clean' install. Again, it's MS that messes it up. What a joke! bk T (215)
1411958 2015-11-29 07:57:00 Cant say its happened on this with a clean install. And I've formatted this like 3-4 times Speedy Gonzales (78)
