Disagree with almost everything you say but you have done well with this post, with your not attacking the man (And the odd sheila) Thank you old chap but I need to sort you out on a couple of matters. Firstly, the 24 page thread is not outstanding, but the fact that over 9000 people have read it is encouraging. :) Hopefully, they will take time to evaluate the content and form their own opinions on balance. You will notice too if you read world news widely there are more and more qualified scientists coming out of the woodwork and joining us “Sceptics and Deniers”. Secondly, the opinions you disagree with aren’t mine. I’m only the messenger and have simply provided links to opinions of well qualified scientists who have taken umbrage at the ones who have brought shame on their profession by fiddling the figures to get the results they wanted. As for playing the ball not the man, I can tell you I’ve been very temped to explain the lack of breeding and brains to two or three, but have decided to ignore them as they aren’t worth powder or shot. ;) The other thing that annoys me is the “Pagan Green” dogma that our children are being indoctrinated with at school and even pre-school. It would seem the schools are following the tried and true methods of other Religions (“Give me a child until he is seven and I will give you the man”) and we all know how well that has worked out. Religious War after Religious War and escalating. So frankly, it is time those of us who are sceptics and deniers to take a stand on this nonsense. :) |

Last night, I stopped hearing Mark Twain's voice saying something about 'onlookers not telling the difference' or something, as I mentioned the other day. However, I now find this morning it's back again - tho this time he's saying something completely different. I can only understand a few words at the end each time he says it tho - 'and beat you with experience' what could it mean? - I must be going mad I'll need to use that link you kindly referred me to now before it gets any worse I think - thanks again :) |

Yes, they are, and no, you haven't. Thankfully for you we haven't declared an open day on people with neither breeding nor brains - I fear you would get slaughtered beyond belief. Finally, your 'Pagan Green' bullsh*t is just that - bullsh*t. What we're talking about is not a matter of opinion, it is a matter of fact. Global warming is either true, or it is false. What people are taught at school is science, and I think you might find that having an inkling of the scientific process is what gives them their faith in scientists, and why they tend to agree with the vast majority of scientists. Put more simply - it's not them, it's you. |

It's not proof of anything as you are well aware, and I assume that's why the emoticon. At this point anyone following the thread should be well aware local weather patterns and temperatures are independant of average global temperatures and in no way relevant. I decided to abandon this thread as a pointless exercise a few times already, somehow I keep getting sucked back in. We have established all we are going to and now it's just down to amusement value. Neither side is convincing anyone of anything any more. How I see the debate; We know B.M. is open mindedly firmly entrenched in the belief that global warming is a non issue. - to be fair though B.M. has pointed out some good arguments against the severity of the change and the risk to humanity (but no proof it's not happening) I think we can all agree politicians have no clue how to deal with the issue one way or the other and just resort to creating new taxes We know that climate change is happening, but we disagree over the extent of our influence or our ability to do anything about it. None of us is likely to live long enough to see proof either way. |
