1404519 2015-07-13 06:08:00 Nicky Hager is most certainly a Investigative Journalist,no doubt however ,there are many here who would prefer the likes of John Keys' friend Rachel Glucina

Based on what facts?

1404520 2015-07-13 06:21:00 Well now, my curiosity as to the actual status, as to what exactly is an “Investigative Journalist”, revealed this so far.

“As of February 2015, the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), an international network that has 165 investigative reporters in over 65 countries, has Hager as its only New Zealand member.”

HERE (en.wikipedia.org) an interesting read, in my humble opinion. ;)

What I was trying to find is the Legal Definition, as I understand under law, they have certain privileges when it comes to privacy with respect to their source of information.

He may well not be wasting his time in Court. ;) Time will tell.

But then, like John Key, you will never have read any of Hager's work, but you will also, like him, claim Hager made it all up

1404524 2015-07-13 08:00:00 Considering I worked with "real" investigative journalists in Parliament many moons ago, I think I know the differences :)

Sadly, Hager does NOT fall within that category.

Care to name some of their work so we can judge for ourselves?

LMAO, Back in the day....

" By today's standards the media then were timid and compliant. As the late David Lange once observed, press conferences - which occurred only infrequently - were formal affairs where journalists would ask questions in a deferential manner. Essentially those in power controlled the flow of information, telling the media what they wanted them to know. "

When I came here some 38 years ago now, I couldn't believe how feeble journalism was compared to UK, especially under the gaze of Muldoon, and how non investigative it was.

Do your own homework and read about people like Ian Templeton, Judy Addinell, Richard Long, Oliver Riddell, Neale McMillan and David MacIntyre.

This (www.nzherald.co.nz) makes an intriguing read - not that I agree 100% with the lady :)
