Go back to the 1960's when they changed their flag & look at the reasons & public support at the time. It was politically motivated Yes, lets ask who back in the 60's supported the change of Canadian flag |

What a quaint NZ expression, but hardly, considering America tried to conquer Canada in the war of 1812 on, and was defeated by the Canadians "at battles such as Queenston Heights in Upper Canada and Chateauguay in Lower Canada — set the stage for the creation of a unified and independent Canada a half-century later." |

| 1404376 | 2015-07-09 22:09:00 | It's a complete waste of time and tax payers' money. Anyway, what can we expect from this bunch of politicians, other than doing all these useless and waste of money 'jobs'? |

Having spent quite a lot of my 20's in Canada I can honestly say they pretty much all hate Americans. Not so much hate, as regard them generically as morons and with disdain :) My two feisty Canadian granddaughters would agree with this statement: "Canadians generally have a prejudice towards Americans at large, and frequently make jokes about how Americans know nothing about geography or history." www.metafilter.com For example, few Americans would even know or admit that they were defeated and thrashed by the Canadians in the 1812 war: "Canada won the War of 1812, U.S. historian admits" :banana news.nationalpost.com |

| 1404378 | 2015-07-10 03:43:00 | An interesting extract from eggshell/lurkings post. The debate lasted more than six months, bitterly dividing the people in the process. Seems we have history repeating itself yet again. But as far as our flag goes I feel sure they will accept the one I designed for them years ago. See my Avatar. It depicts the country divided in two with a white hand passing fists full of money to a brown hand. As this accurately depicts Key & Cos Separatist and Racist agenda I cant see why they found the need to go to all the trouble and expense they have. |

| 1404379 | 2015-07-10 04:38:00 | The flag debate is a diversionary tactic designed to deflect public attention away from loss of sovereignty that will come about with TPPA, the sale of sizeable chunks of NZ real estate to China and other foreigners, and other things the government don't want the hoi-polloi to know about, like sleazy Saudi deals, :horrified :D | Terry Porritt (14) | ||
