| 1404726 | 2015-07-30 07:16:00 | So the mighty thicko BM has finally provoked Nick into calling him a moron. Are you going to warn him too JEN?Both of you are out for 24 hours to cool down. |

| 1404727 | 2015-07-30 08:18:00 | You are right dug, Archimedes principle, but BM didn't say that, he said the sea level didn't rise because quoting Winston: "Water continues to become more dense until it reaches 4°C. After it reaches 4°C, it becomes LESS dense. When freezing, molecules within water begin to move around more slowly, making it easier for them to form hydrogen bonds and eventually arrange themselves into an open crystalline, hexagonal structure. Because of this open structure as the water molecules are being held further apart, the volume of water increases about 9%. " has nothing to do with the weight of water displaced by a floating iceberg..........hence he failed miserably again :) Oh dear. I can assure you I am well aware of Archimedes Principle and considered Winstons post as just an extension of that showing why water increased in volume when it froze. My Posts #104 and #123 would confirm that if you need reminding. You will also note that I even explained the Ice Cube experiment (as did dugimodo) which is Archimedes Principle. So you see it is you who has failed miserably yet again. |

| 1404728 | 2015-07-30 08:37:00 | Twist and turn all you like BM, you haven't explained why you think the expansion of water when it freezes accounts for "why Melting Icebergs and Melting Sea Ice doesn’t make a blind bit of difference to the earths sea levels." The statement was erroneous therefore irrelevant and meaningless, regardless of you understanding Archimedes Principle............just saying |

I don't think that is fair, BM hasn't got himself worked up into a frenzy :) Quite the opposite, most of his posts have lots of  :D :D etc. Actually there is a condition where people laugh at their own jokes and never admit they can be wrong.................................... |

Agree like totally Terry, BM is steadfast (some people might use other words) in his arguments and nothing will ever change him. All I do when I see his arguments is bang my head on the top of my computer desk until I come right. |

The statement was erroneous therefore irrelevant and meaningless, regardless of you understanding Archimedes Principle............just saying Not twisting and turning at all old chap, but regardless of your personal interpretation of Winstons post, the fact remains that if all the Icebergs and floating ice melts, it wont make a blind bit of difference to the sea levels. Now what I want to know is how were going to melt the land ice when its surrounded by sub-zero temperatures C. For your consideration: The lowest natural temperature ever directly recorded at ground level on Earth is −89.2 °C (−128.6 °F; 184.0 K), which was at the Soviet Vostok Station in Antarctica, on July 21, 1983. And 6633 And note they are average. ;) So come on guys how are we going to melt massive amounts of ice by fiddling with Co2 levels and thus lift the oceans? :groan: Get the Commies on the job aye Prefect. :D |

| 1404735 | 2015-07-30 23:09:00 | Here we go again, it's not my interpretation of Winston's post, it's yours trying to connect it with Archimedes Principle (an extension you called it...wrong) when it has no connection whatsoever. Just admit you are wrong and withdraw half of your statement in post #161 then I'll be happy :) |
