1404696 2015-07-29 01:41:00 B.M, if there was a similar concentration of DDT in your food, would you still eat it?

Struth, you're getting desperate now Nick.

What has DDT got to do with the subject at hand?

But to answer your question, minute amounts of DDT wouldn’t worry me because as a child my father grew all our own vegetables and was a keen flower gardener. When I got married I did the same and DDT was the fix for nearly everything. So I’ve probably consumed a ton of the stuff with no ill effects. :D

Nope, not getting desperate at all. You're the one who is trying to appeal to emotion. If DDT isn't enough, let's say a small amount of cyanide then.

Some things can cause severe consequences even if they're only present in small amounts.

1404698 2015-07-29 02:24:00 I take it you learned fellows are au fait with the Carbon Cycle. I n a perfect environment it balances out, throw in more of one variable and it goes out of kilter until a new balance is achieved. Result of an imbalance? Climate instability.
Regarding Antarctic ice, this article might be interest.

Also don't forget water expands as it's temperature rises, to 4c.

I don’t have an issue with your post Whenu except not understanding the relevance of water expanding up to 4°C. Maybe you’d be good enough to explain further.

However, the link you provided made me laugh as disciples of Global Warming, now disguised as Climate Change, tried to excuse the obvious by attacking the Sceptics and Deniers on the basis that we are denying Climate Change in general.

We aren’t, we know there is Climate Change, always has been and always will be. It is perfectly normal and nothing to get excited about. However, the Global Warming alarmists have jumped on the Climate Change bandwagon to try and save some face after they were caught out manipulating figures and findings. Had they not been caught we would still be dealing with Global Warming even though there hasn’t been any for 15-20 years depending who you believe and the Global Warming has only increased 0.777°C in the last 135 years.

Australia has kicked the Co2 nonsense into touch and so should we. ;)

Yes, I am aware some fruit contain low levels of cyanide. However, the concentration required to kill, like that of DDT, is still incredibly low. You can nitpick over the exact quantity required all you want, but it doesn't make my point any less valid - some things can have severe consequences even in very small quantities.

Well your levels of Co2 haven't bothered me either but reducing it might bother some plants.

Well no, you'll be dead before the full effects of climate change are felt. That's why it has so many naysayers, not everyone can think long term.

Never mind Nick, you’ll be safe in the arms of your “Pagan Green Religion”. :tui:

And you will also be dead long before you are proved right or wrong.

Why don't we start a new thread about how many angels can dance on the head of a pin? :)
