| 1411736 | 2015-11-22 19:21:00 | I have a little Samsung GT-S5300 mobile phone running the Gingerbread OS which I really only use for the odd call. However, yesterday I went on the internet and one reputable site reported that I didn’t have Flash installed, would I like to install it. Being a reputable site I agreed but then got a message saying my phone didn’t support Flash. Well there is plenty on the internet to suggest it does, but I thought I’d ask here for recommendations before needlessly buggering the phone up. I see quite a bit about Adobe no longer supporting Android, but I’m wondering if that is correct, of if it only applies to the latest phones. Anyway, all comments appreciated. :thanks |

| 1411737 | 2015-11-22 20:13:00 | According to this it doesnt (www.samsung.com) Looks like your mobile is listed so it probably applies to your phone as well An older version of flash MAY work, but it's probably full of holes. If you decide to install / then use it Whatever sites will have to change whatever, so they dont need flash |

Newer versions of Android don't support it at all and older versions only have outdated versions of flash from before it was abandoned. There are workarounds and such but unless you really need to see a particular site that uses flash it's best just avoided. I don't think apple support flash either. The OS writers have decided it's time to drop Flash, website owners however aren't rushing to make a change so it'll be a while before it's really gone. A lot of websites have apps that can be used instead of the website. |
