Can dropbox, or some other cloud sync program, be set so the main PC's files are never changed by dropbox,no matter what What I want is, for a PC & laptop , the PC has the master files, these must NEVER change or be over written. The laptop, when out of the office will access those files via dropbox (or other service) , but any changes to files made via the laptop will not change the files on the main PC I would just use offline files, but its looking buggy on Win10 (even flakier than usual) Cheers |

| 1411499 | 2015-11-17 08:55:00 | If the laptop runs a different login then you can set view only permissions for it on dropbox and full access on the PC. Otherwise any client could alter a file. I use dropbox and Google drive with the same login from different devices. The safety net of course is incremental backup to cloud using something like IDrive in my case, can retrieve any file anytime anywhere |
