2007-02-28 03:08:00 | You are all great to try to help but I have d/l the Avery Wizard and cannot see that I can customise the size, nor can I find the number 8159 - 8160 appears but of course is not the correct size.... With Word I can set the size correctly but how do I make the page of all the same label - say we want "Corn Relish" centered and with a small corn graphic underneath - how can I achieve this please.... I can set up the page of labels and create the first one, but if I go to Print, it only prints one label, not a page full of the same.... TIA Bryden

2007-02-28 23:22:00 | Word's labels wizard throws up all the buttons you need for "propagating' the first top left label into all the remaining 23 empty ones. Otherwise setup the first label with your graphics, field codes etc. Make sure you have the <<next record>> field code included at the end. Then copy. TAB paste TAB paste etc etc It can be a mission but it can work well - especially if you have laboured to keep your necessry Outlook Contacts set up properly and use the <<address block>> codes etc. and there is the option to output the labels to a new document before actually wasting 6 million sheets in the printer... Allows you to tweak things (like using <shift enter> for new line rather than <enter> for a paragraph to keep things 'tight'. A note: when actually printing, watch for the odd/nuisance blank page at the end of the document.

2007-03-01 01:54:00 | A note: when actually printing, watch for the odd/nuisance blank page at the end of the document. If the previous page is completely full - a table perhaps - use of the Show/Hide icon, will reveal an end of paragraph icon at the top of the apparently blank final page. Top stop this, the content of the previous page has to be shortened so that the end of paragraph icon is on the same page as the final content. Happens all the time if you create a full-page table. | Scouse (83) | |
2007-06-09 01:07:00 | Ever get a decent outcome with your Labels? My method for printing 3 across and 8 down on A4 Sheet has worked for me for a number of years. I use the same format for printing other size labels when necessary and to print my own Bus Card -(obviously no merge is necessary). I created a Word Document with Merge facility (didnt make it a template cos I just save it with a new Name before doing anything - thus original is always there) using Tables. Tables allow me to be precise in sizes, spaces between etc. Put all the merge details - eg: «Next Record»«Title» «Initials» «Surname» «Address_1» «Address_2» «Town» in each table NB "Next record" is not in the first table but all subsequent tables. Then I merge with names and addresses from an Excel Membership Database.

Labels are an absolute doddle in this program - I have done hundreds with no problems. Apart from the times when I have made a mistake myself when setting up. Always check on an ordinary piece of paper first before printing. Tom |
