| 528388 | 2007-02-27 08:54:00 | Dont try that site its crap i used it on my laptop the other day and it told me i had 60% good drivers and 40% bad drivers and that was after i received an automatic driver update from hp and it had already instaled new drivers, and driver agent.com told me the new drivers i installed were bad drivers so then i cliked on the driver update and it told me you already have the best driver available. So dont believe a word that sight says nine times out of ten its wrong. | Hitech (9024) | ||

Or try sites like video-drivers.com network-drivers.com sound-drivers.com They all end up at Driverguide.com Great site, have been using it for years, have not had a failure yet except the odd non descript modem maybe. Hey but that would be Isa as well.. Good luck: |

| 528391 | 2007-02-27 10:14:00 | Does it show the name of the videocard if u right mouse on the desktop and properties/settings? or default monitor? Or if u go to display adapters in device manager, does it say the name of the card? If it doesnt the drivers arent installed. Yup the drivers are on the manufacturer's site. Or in the case of software, patches on whoever made the program. On their site. And yup, there are regular updates, they're usually on the manufacturer's site. Did u download/install the drivers from the link I gave? Speedy, since we cross-posted I guess you missed that I named the videocard - see above at 11.54 AM. I went to device manager and this time saw a yellow flag with the WinFast TV-FM card; found CD and no more yellow flag. No yellow with the Radeon 9200. Its a hassle to actually test to see if there is video out, as I have to set up a wireless transmit & receive set as I want to send video to the TV. Will do this later. Turtle - thanks for reminding me about driverguide.com I'll hunt around there. Thanks guys. |

| 528393 | 2007-02-27 12:51:00 | I dont understand the idea of fixing something that isnt broke yet (the fixing may mean its broke ) if its broke I understand Because you could get much better results from an updated driver. Video drivers are good examples that the latest drivers usually get more FPS from games than the earlier drivers. A good exampl is the drivers for NVidia Vista cards. The first drivers were real dogs but with each new release the driver is getting better and better results. |

I went to device manager and this time saw a yellow flag with the WinFast TV-FM card; Ah so this PC has a tuner in it?? Are u sure the ATI videocard has TV out?? And you're not mixing it up with the tuner?? What tuner is this?? The Leadtek Expert?? I would also forget places like driverguide. Thats why manufacturers have updates for drivers and software on their site. So whatever works properly. |

| 528395 | 2007-02-28 03:54:00 | Yes, it has a Leadtek WinFast TV-FM tuner. The mobo has video out. (Or is it the Leadtek Winfast? - one of them does). I never did check to see if video out worked when I first got the pc, then I had to do a reformat last year. If I had a tiny portable TV (maybe like those DSE $40 cheapies), I could simply connect it to the back of the pc and check if it is working. It would take me a massive amount of time - 10 or 15 :p minutes - to get the wireless transmit - receive set hooked up... I'll get around to it... but after the other problem I am having with the upgraded office pc, and the fact that I have to be in an awkward :stare: position on the floor with a headlamp on, and cannot access the back of the TV, etc., at this time I cannot be bothered :waughh: fiddling around anymore. Maybe a beer would make it easier to do. |
