528220 2007-02-26 03:38:00 u know when u burn a cd,your recording software(whether u use nero etc),has a box you can check to "allow files to be added later),well how many times can u do this with one cdr?

And in your experiences, say you had a file on a cdr,and a few days later you burned another file onto the same cdr,and did the same thing again a few days later, and you put it into your cd writer dvd,how are the files displayed? Are they just displayed alongside each other,or you do have to right click on the drive, and choose properties, then click on the volume to view each file seperately?

528221 2007-02-26 03:50:00 Until its full, or until u tick / untick the multisession option .

Then its finalised when u burn to it . Then u cant burn to it anymore .

After I make up a cd, I use a program, that makes a menu .

That way it makes an autorun . inf file on the cd before I finalise it .

It saves me opening the cd to see whats on it to install whatever file .

I just click whatever file in the menu, and it installs .

I dont usually see whats on the cd (if I want to add to it) . I just open Nero up again and add to it till its full, then add a menu, then finalise it .

528222 2007-02-26 13:21:00 What’s the difference between a "Multisession" disc and a "Multitrack" disc?
A “session” is a unity on a CD which is bounded by lead-in and lead-out. A session contains one or several (up to
99 per disc) tracks. There are two types of tracks. A Red Book audio track is usually written in disc at once mode
along with several other tracks in one session. These tracks have index numbers in the subchannel which
differentiate one from the other and which allow selective playback. The other type of track is the incrementally
written type described above.
The first session takes 20 megabytes of space whereas the remaining 98 take 13 megabyte each.
You may look at Optical Storage Technology Association CD-R/RW FAQ for details available in this PDF document (www.osta.org).
Also read this article (www.pctechguide.com) on 9660 CD-R ISO standard. Yet more info (www.mrichter.com) on multisessioning.

528224 2007-02-26 23:54:00 Hi Speedy - also interested.... thanks Scouse (83)
528225 2007-02-27 00:03:00 I use this ( . longtion . com/autorunpro/autorunpro . htm" target="_blank">www . longtion . com)

Its not free tho . Altho, there should be others around somewhere .

All u do in this program is make a folder somewhere, chuck the files you want to burn to cd, (to the size of the CD) that is .

Then make links to the files in the menu . Once you're ready to burn the files to cd, u can test the menu u made, to make sure the links to the files work .

Before you burn them .

Then all you do, is use something like Nero, (data cd) add the files to it (from the folder you made), which also includes the autorun . inf file, so the menu comes up when u put the CD in . Then you burn/finalise the CD . Thats it .
