| 529079 | 2007-03-01 08:40:00 | ok here is my problem. I recently got windows vista business edition through msdn. I install it on my sata hard drive and everything worked great. well i desided since there are still some bugs in vista and that all the drivers arn't done yet i'd partition my hard drive and put xp on it to. Well i did this by using disk management in vista and shrinkiing the partition first then nameing a new one. I then ran the xp installation and it went throguh the copying of files and eveything. Thern when it went to reboot the bios stops right after pickiing up the drive. I left it sitting for over 30 mins and nothing. I tryed resetting the bios everything. It just sits there. can anyone help me? I even put the drive into a never computer i have with a newer bios just to see if that was it and still it sits. it comes up that it has detected it and that it is S.M.A.R.T compatable and that the status is ok. And then nothing the bios stops and doesn't finish to go into the boot. I really need help here guys i don't have money for a new hard drive. anyone have any suggestions? | ozzyfreak424 (11939) | ||

Altho sometimes, this is only needed (or done) if u have/use SATA RAID. And you usually install the earliest version (XP) then the latest version (Vista). |
