529184 2007-03-03 10:17:00 TEOR, that was for the benefit of others, I expected you to know. Oh, I see what you mean now... I have been a tad tired the past few days and not really onto it :o The_End_Of_Reality (334)
529185 2007-03-03 18:39:00 Can anyone advise how I can change my default password on my D-Link DSL-302G? Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I login with admin admin, then when I go to password and username I get my ISP login so that's obviously not where to change it.

Next I go to advanced settings, admin, user configuration. I type in admin as existing password, enter my new password, then a popup window tells me 501 Method Not Implemented.

I tried again using "root" as the password - same thing. When I close my browser and reopen to login again the username/pass remains as admin admin.

I'm confused.

Thanks for any help.

You could read the manual or hire a hacker. The latter is probably more effective.

529187 2007-03-04 09:27:00 You could read the manualNo manual. But the problem now sorted. In a stroke of genius I tried doing it in IE instead of Mozilla. Worked a treat for some reason. Greg (193)
529188 2007-03-05 02:14:00 and... make sure you disable "remote access" (so named on my Dlink)... manu (8770)
529189 2007-03-05 20:08:00 If you look at your devices connected and write down the mac addresses, then enable mac address filtering, only giving access to those mac addresses (making sure they were all yours, lol) you'll have an extra layer of security.

In case you don't know, all devices have a mac address or identifying number unique to that device, like a fingerprint, so don't think that just because you anonymized your ip address that they won't be able to track you down ;)

529190 2007-03-05 20:22:00 And here I thought a MAC address was the place where embarrassed Mac users went to hide after confronting a superior PC!

But yeah - online anti-cheat applications can void your network card on their networks by virtue of identifying the MAC address.
