529022 2007-03-01 06:34:00 Ahhh! I'm a sucker for a happy ending. Well don fella's and fellesses.

Although this is somewhat redundant now, it's got me wondering, I didn't think rebuilding the shell icon cache was such a big deal without the likes of TweakUI or XSetup (the latter being by far the superior tweaker IMMHOO). I'm going to track the fecker down until it's sorted.

529023 2007-03-01 06:48:00 My shell icon cache is in C:\WINNT , in XP it will be C:\WINDOWS , scroll down until you find ShellIconCache, though your mileage may vary in XP.

So what was this bollocks with Documents & Settings? Eh!

Can anyone clarify that?

529024 2007-03-01 06:50:00 Turns out the problem isn't 100% solved.

When I click on browse (say in a msn convo, for a pic) the little folders and whatnot still appear the same as the ugly ones. Any advice on fixing the "browse" icons?

Under the same place I gave before, does it give the name of a videocard?

Did u install the videocard drivers?
Speedy Gonzales (78)
529026 2007-03-01 07:43:00 Uh..why does it have anything to do with my videocard? It's this whole vista transformation pack + other thing that apparently reverted them back that screwed it up.

But I checked and it says

Plug and play monitor on Mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS

If that's not what you're looking for, then under the advanced tab it says

Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile.

If that's not why you're after then I dunno what you want.

529028 2007-03-01 11:01:00 Wolf, Try this Utility that fixes icons its called ShellIconFix. I have used it before to fix some icons that looked like crap. It worked great.

I don't know if it will resolve your problem but you could try it.

Get it form here (windowsxp.mvps.org)
