| 529907 | 2007-03-04 07:46:00 | I have a PC & Laptop on a wireless network with an a/b/g router. Both are set to wifi mode G. However I tried transfering a 350mb file from the laptop to the PC and it took over 35 minutes! Why so slow? What steps can I take to speed up the supposedly 54 mbps transfer rate? I know you usually get a lot less but this is ridiculous. |

WiFi drops speed rapidly with signal strength drop-off or co-channel interference with other devices sharing the band. Mine is OK within a few feet, but move away and the speed drops rapidly. Have 2.4 GHz phones, security cameras etc which is probably a major cause here. But without this sort of info we can only guess at your end. |
