529544 2007-03-05 04:27:00 Not im my case - I changed the boot order to the hard drive first. I could leave a bootable floppy in there 24/7, so if Windows becomes unbootable, it boots from the floppy automatically.

Now I was always taught to leave the boot order in the generally accepted default floppy first then HD.
When I found myself instructing students in computers I also told them the same thing. In fact I told them if they wanted thrills out of life then try swimming between any of our three main islands - less stressful than playing with the BIOS if you don't know what you are doing.
Its years since I have had to boot from a floppy - I run XP these days - is it still possible to use a floppy to boot up in XP - I just checked my floppies and there doesn't seem to be a bootable in them?
And that comment was about as stupid as could be - my computer now knows I am defenceless and is bound to take advantage of me.

Yup u can make a bootable disk or USB flash drive, if the system supports booting from a USB flash drive .

You'll just have to make it bootable with another OS apart from XP . Or a free program u can download from the HP site . And a file from bootdisk . com

And then u can either make the floppy boot into DOS, copy a few files to the floppy/USB flash drive, then u can make it read NTFS partitions .

And if u want to boot into XP with a floppy, make a boot . ini file (or copy it from XP), chuck it on the floppy . It'll get u right into XP .
