Can someone enlighten me please?.A few years ago you used to buy drives that were one size, but you actually got a bit less than that due to the space used up when formatting the drive. These days it's a little different as you're actually getting a formatted capacity of 320GB. However, it's not actually 320GB - it's 320,000,000,000 bytes, which is about 298GB... so now really they're just lying about it :) I think it probably comes down to whether one kilobyte =1000 bytes or 1024 bytes.
