I restored the operating system just in case--no go. I couldn't even get a restore Bart's or other operating system cd to run so I could try to recover the data. It sat over the weekend, then I started it up to try to load Maxblast to overwrite all the data before I took it to the shop...damn if it didn't start up and run normally, everything working. I don't think it's just because it cooled down, because it had already been off overnight before. It was unplugged, but still had the battery in, so it wouldn't have had a complete power drain. Anyway, weird...computer seemed to fix itself...guess it didn't like the idea of going to the shop:D |
