530755 2007-03-07 00:24:00 I have looked at paradise, orcon, slingshot and a few others.
Seems the cheapest deals are $29.95 for 256k and 1 gig.

Which ISP is giving the best deal at the moment ?
do they all require tolls with the them for best price ?

cheers
Pete

530756 2007-03-07 00:46:00 Xnet (www.xnet.co.nz) will only be about $28 for 256k & 1GB.
No need to have your tolls with them either to get that price!

Paying $29.95 per month with Xnet will give you 2.93GB

530757 2007-03-07 00:48:00 There's quite a few threads on this topic - you could do a search for broadband and price .

However, I think you will find that Xnet are still among the best in terms of price . They have three plans . The first is 256k/64k, the second is full speed/128k, and the third is full speed/full speed . In each case, you can either pay for your data as you go, or you can set a cap, where your speed is limited to 64k when you reach that cap .

Data is charged at 0 . 1c per megabyte, which equates to about a $1 per gigabyte .

Each of the plans has a base fee - the first is $26 . 95, the second is $33 . 95, and the third is $49 . 95 . You add the data charges on top .

So - to compare to other ISPs, for $29 . 95, you get 256k/64k and 3gigs of data . Or you can get full speed/128k with 15 gigs of data for $49 . 31 .

Xnet will not charge you any more if you don't have your tolls with them (though their prices are great), while every other ISP will charge you $10 extra unless you switch your tolls across .

Have a look here, and play around with the various options for costs:

www . xnet . co . nz/hsi

Xnet also give a credit to your referrer (the person who told you about Xnet) . If you decide to go with Xnet, PM before you do, and I'll give you my details to pass on to Xnet . . . )

This is what I hate about most broadband ISP's .

Since I dont use (or have) a phone on my line (The modem, is plugged directly into the jack . We have 2 lines, and coz the flatmate wont let me use her line for adsl lol), I dont see why I should pay the extra $10 for tolls, since I dont have a phone anyway .

530761 2007-03-07 02:52:00 Another great thing about Xnet is you don't have a 12 month contract with them. In other words, you can cancel at anytime without paying a disconnection fee. --Wolf-- (128)

Xnet is looking good :)
I did search Lizard but only found older threads, thought a new one wouldn't hurt :)

Remember you do usually get what you pay for. I have heard good reviews about Actrix, and if you think you are going to need lots of help, I have heard that Actrixs customer support is really good and you are speaking to real NZers, unlike some ISPs who contract out their support to India and Malaysia
