| 530480 | 2007-03-05 21:18:00 | Hi there I have a problem on my laptop where I used to have Ctrl+Alt+G assigned within Word to apply a specific style. For some reason this no longer works. If I try to reassign the key combination to the style, the combination is obviously assigned to something else (outside of Word). The only visible "result" of pressing the key combination is that the "focus" is no longer on what used to be the active window. The same result occurs when in any application, not just Word. So I am thinking this combination has been assigned to something at a higher level i.e. at the Windows level. Is there somewhere I can see what has grabbed the shortcut? Maybe in Control Panel? Running XP, Office 2003. Thanks |

| 530481 | 2007-03-05 22:17:00 | Hi kaz63. Welcome. You might find what you are looking for listed with the commands here..... Word > Tools > Macro > Macros. Under the Macro Name window highlight ListCommands. Under the Macros In window highlight Word Commands and then click Run. Should get 8-9 pages of the already assigned shortcuts of various kinds. | Scouse (83) | ||
| 530482 | 2007-03-05 22:31:00 | I already did that but the Ctrl+Alt+G combo isn't in the list. And I think that is because it is assigned to something outside Word - like at the Windows level. | kaz63 (11961) | ||
| 530483 | 2007-03-06 05:24:00 | kaz63 - Check your laptop documentation for 'Hot key' or 'Macro' references. Sony certainly has optional hot keys and you can unload them. (I think Toshiba too) If no documentation then try the Help files which may set out details of the proprietary utilities included with the system. |
