530812 2007-03-07 02:17:00 When booting up - even from hibernate- I have six screens before I can reach my desktop:

1: hardware list - black screen
2: initial build - black screen
3; device listing - black screen
4: resuming windows plus spectrum - black screen + windows logo
5: logon password screen - no password
6: windows icon plus spectrum
All of which takes 44 seconds

I am the sole user/administrator. Can I remove all these screens and just boot straight to my desktop?
I have looked in msconfig; regedit and the bios setup but cant see anywhere that relates to screens

530813 2007-03-07 02:26:00 No u cant. The 1st 3 screens are part of the BIOS (post screen). The rest are for XP.

The first 3 screens is what the BIOS detects (as in hardware on bootup) and whats in the system.

The only thing u could remove is if the mobo logo appears on startup (on some mobos). This can be disabled in the BIOS.

Altho, u can replace the windows logo etc with something else, (with software). BUT if you do it wrong, it can screw the system up.

There maybe an option not to show what comes up on the post screen, in the BIOS. BUT it'll most probably take as long to get into windows. With or without the first 3 screens.

Then change the way users login, to rid the login screen.

Dont think you can get rid of 4 or 6 though.
